Measuring Social Media as a Marketing Tool

How can Bit.ly help with Measuring social media success?

Bitly

It could be argued that measuring the number of ‘mentions’ or ‘re-tweets’ your Twitter account gets, or the number of ‘likes’ on a Facebook page is a useful way of judging success. However, how do we account for negative sentiment, or those who like your Facebook page with no intention of spending any money? Web marketers are contantly seeking to improve the way success is measured. The URL shortening tool Bit.ly may go someway towards providing a solution. Bitly does far more than provide a shorter link to your websites; it can also serve as a powerful tool to gather quantitative data to track the success of your Social Media marketing campaigns.

SneakyMedia on Web Design and Social Medias

We at SneakyMedia still haven’t decided whether or not we like this new craze for social medias. Of course it’s a positive that these modern micro-blogging platforms provide a place to express yourself and, perhaps more importantly, a place to share and discuss ideas.

However, like all aspects of the internet, there will be people who want to abuse these platforms for personal gain. We’re not talking about self promotion or SEO here, but advertisements, products placement and spamming through Tweets (just one example!).

Despite all of this, SneakyMedia Web Design can now be found discussing projects and ideas on Twitter!
